Finals Day

Top performing schools from UK/Ireland and international regional rounds will be invited to participate in our Finals Day.
​
This consists of 4 rounds of short-prep debates. The top 8 teams from these rounds will then progress to the Semifinals and then Finals. There shall also be three other finals:

A Novice Final, for teams that are in their first year of competitive debating and have never broken before in a competition.

An ESL Final, for teams where English is a second language for both speakers.

A State School Final, for teams from a non-selective state school.​​

The Oxford Schools’ Debating Competition is kindly run with the support of Cherwell College Oxford, who provides the venue and rooms necessary to develop the public speaking skills of the next generation. Without them, Oxford Schools’ Finals Day would not be possible, and the Oxford Union is very grateful for their support.
